The small port of Pont Aven, once a favourite of the impressionist PaulGauguin, is packed with crêperies, cafés and tempting gift boutiques. Manyartists came here to paint the stone bridges, riverside glades andwatermills and you will find original artwork displayed in the variousgalleries. Within half an hour's drive is the lovely medieval city ofQuimper with its pretty boulevards and cobbled streets and the verypopular seaside resort of Bénodet where you can enjoy good restaurants,beaches of fine white sand & wander around the lively yachting marina.

Domaine de Kerlann is a stunning 16 hectare site with around 750 pitchesin shady woodland just a short drive (5k) to lovely beaches and withineasy reach of Brittany's charming historic towns. There's a fantasticwater complex with 3 pools (1 indoor) and plenty of other facilities forthe whole family including a multi-sports ground, lively eveningentertainment, 5 play areas & free children's activities for all ages.

Max: 4/5 - Chalet style mobile homes have living room with table/chairs, paddedseating area (converts to single bed), kitchen corner (fridge/freezer,microwave + 4 ring hob), 1 double & 1 twin bedroom (could have bunk beds),shower, wc. Wooden terrace with garden furniture. Free charcoal bbq.

Max: 6 - As above except padded seating does not convert into a bed and there is anextra twin bedroom (could have bunk beds).

SPORTS - Tennis (5 euros an hour). Multi-sports ground. Boules pitch. Table tennis,volleyball, football tournaments. Archery (Jul/Aug). Watersports(windsurfing, kayaking) 10k.

FOR CHILDREN - Free activities (shows, art & crafts, sport tournaments) for 3 age groupsup to 14yrs. 5 play areas. Games room.

OTHER ACTIVITIES - Evening entertainment (dancing, comedy shows). Mini golf.Aquagym.

FACILITIES - Restaurant, bar with large screen tv & Wi-Fi (charge payable), small shop,take away food.

SWIMMING - Superb water complex with 2 large outdoor pools open May to midSept (one is heated and has waterslides & paddling pool, the other hasa 'Splash Zone' featuring many water jets). Indoor pool (open allseason) with waterslides & paddling pool.

Towel hire - 10 euros per person.

Bed linen hire - 8 euros per single bed, 12 euros per double bed.

Baby facilities - Hire of cot and high chair 2 euros each per day.

The nearby Plage de Tahiti really is a paradise with a sweep of fine whitesand giving way to crystal clear azure waters. The children also enjoyedthe beach at Port Manech chasing crabs scurrying near rocks in the gentlyshelving bay.

We spent a couple of pleasant afternoons wandering around Pont Aven withits watermill, bridge and narrow streets. We loved the buttery biscuitscalled galettes which are made locally and sold everywhere.
