The popular resort of Bénodet, on Finistère's southern coast, has foursandy beaches and a pleasant marina. You can take a boat trip out to theGlénan islands or along the river Odet to the medieval city of Quimper.Other places to visit include the fishing port of Concarneau, the artists'centre of Pont Aven, or nearby Beg Meil, where you can visit a ciderproducer.

The Pointe St Gilles site has 480 pitches in 11 hectares, close to a sandybeach. Nearby Bénodet (1k) has all the usual holiday facilities -restaurants, cafés, bars, canoeing, sailing, children's beach clubs etcand there's plenty on site to keep everyone entertained.

Max: 4/5 - Chalet style mobile homes have living room with table/chairs, tv, singlesofa bed, kitchen corner (fridge/freezer, 4 ring hob + mini oven), double& twin bedroom (plus pull-down bed), shower, wc. French windows to woodenterrace with garden furniture. Bbq hire 10 euros per week.

Max: 6 - As above but with 2nd twin bedroom and bed in double bedroom is king size.Sofa, not sofa bed, in living room.

SPORTS - Tennis, volleyball, football, basketball, table tennis.

FOR CHILDREN - Free activities (4-12 yrs, Jul/Aug) with treasure hunts, arts & crafts,sports. Play areas, playroom (video games, billiards etc).

OTHER ACTIVITIES - All in Jul/Aug. Aqua gym (weekday mornings). Disco, karaoke & eveningentertainment. Fitness room.

FACILITIES - Bike hire. Tourist train visits site several times daily. Wi-Fi in bar(charge payable).

SWIMMING - Heated outdoor complex open 15/5-15/9 (main pool 1m-2.5m deep),waterslides, jacuzzi & heated paddling pool (0.35m deep with slides).Indoor pool (sliding roof) with waterslides & lazy river open all season.Wellbeing centre (around 20 euros per person for 2hrs) with indoor pool,steam room, sauna, beauty salon & hairdresser.

End of stay cleaning - 60 euros.

Bed linen hire - 13 euros per bed (request at least 1 wk in advance).

Baby facilities - Hire of kit (cot, high chair, baby bath) 4.50 euros per night.

Towel hire - 7 euros per person (hand & bath towel) - request at least 1 wk in advance.

We walked along the coastal path to the old town of Bénodet where we founda quaint little pizzeria called Le Domino in Rue Kerguelen. The wholefamily had a thoroughly enjoyable meal at a very reasonable price.
