Brittany Ferries raise the French camping standards

First it was tents, then mobile homes, but now French camping has been taken a further step upmarket by Brittany Ferries with the launch of its Chalet Collection. The new four to five bed chalets are featured on six of Western France's leading campsites from Brittany to Poitou Charentes.

The attractive looking chalets are fully furnished with beds, cooker and fridge, shower and separate WC. There are French windows to an outdoor sitting area and sometimes a wooden decked terrace with garden furniture and barbeque. Prices start at €191 per person per week at Sequoia Park south of La Rochelle, inclusive of return Brittany Ferries Cork-Roscoff crossings for two adults and two children, four berth cabin and car.

Families can enjoy all the fun of traditional camping but with a more substantial non-canvas holiday home base.  Children's clubs operate on most sites where the chalets are available and, depending on which park is chosen, other activities include pony trekking, fishing, kayaking and sailing.
